Ack! I totally forgot to post a couple of pages I did for A Kiss on the Chic the other day. And I've got more sitting here that I need to photo. These are for the November kit using BasicGrey Ambrosia. This is a PACKED kit!

Weekend Scraps and other things

I scrapped 3 pages this weekend. Yay me! How? Well, Jason and Jacob went camping. :) The other boys and I ordered pizza last night and I scrapped and caught up on A LOT of dvr stuff! I still have about 10-12 hours worth of things to watch but that's better than the 30 I had.

And we had a yard sale yesterday. I don't know the final tally yet, but it appears we made over $300. I'm pretty stoked about that. That's all Christmas money! Wheeeee!

Ok, so here's what I did:

This one is for ScrapTag at The Scrapping Spot. Basically, we "roll a number" and pick a layout to lift by the person who corresponds with that number. I rolled Dee (former AWESOME DT member at the spot). Her stuff is always way more artsy or full or detailed than I am. Boy, it's hard sometimes! But I like it!

This one is also for The Spot - that Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader scrapbook style challenge. The 1st half of the challenge involved politics or government. I used these pictures of Paris because it's the capital of France and each of these pictures means something to the history of French government/politics. The Lourve was originally built as a palace and fortress for Philip II; the Arc de Triomphe' was built by Napoleon to celebrate his armies; and of course, there's the tomb of Napoleon himself. Boy, that was kind of creepy to be there. But it's still significant.

And the 2nd half of that challenge was to scrap a page where someone else did the writing. Eli just happened to draw this this morning. Notice that Auburn symbol on there. What in the world??? Where did we go wrong with our children? We're Alabama fans and so far 3 of them claim to like Auburn. And how did my 5 year old who can't spell his last name yet, figure out how to draw the Auburn symbol so well????

OK, I'm going to bed now. Well, downstairs. I have loads of laundry piled on my bed that need handled first. *sigh*

What am I going to do?

I need help. Guidance. Suggestions. Whatever.

My 11-year old...smart thing...lazy thing. The teachers post their grades online throughout the grading period so parents can see what's going on and not be surprised come report card time. Well, I'm looking at Jacob's and he's got 2 C's. He shouldn't have C's. Heck, he shouldn't even have B's but I'm willing to give him one grading period in Middle School to get used to things. And those C's are in 2 of his favorite subjects. Why? HE'S NOT DOING HIS HOMEWORK! WTF? Why not? I have no idea. And what's worse is he lies about having any or getting it done. And the times when I do KNOW he's done the work? He doesn't turn it in. Is he looking for attention? Is he too overwhelmed with starting middle school? What can I do?

I did it!

I changed my blog header and it doesn't look like crap! The only way this thing goes with my title is that the banner is shaped like pizza slices, right?

So, we're doing some serious purging around here. We gathered ALL of the DS, gameboy, gamecube, playstation, xbox, and psp games and a bunch of movies PLUS the nintendo gamecube, a nintendo gameboy advance, the xbox 1 AND a playstation 2 we didn't want and took the whole lot to Gamestop to see what we could get for them. One hour later we walked out with a credit for $330!!! Yay! Now Santa can get MarioKart plus 4 wheels for Christmas and maybe Wii fit and/or maybe Guitar Hero or Rock Band. And we picked up an extra Xbox 360 controller. We only had one and the boys have never been able to play 2 player games. So now we're down to the Wii, the Xbox 360, one DS, and one PSP. I feel lightweight now!

Saturday my mom is having a yard sale with a friend and we're putting in a bunch of our crap. I've got furniture, small appliances, toys, clothes, CRAP to put in there. I'd like to make a couple of hundred - sure would be nice for Christmas!

Speaking of Christmas, I actually got Jason to look at the Ipod Touch today. That's a vast improvement.

On sadder notes, Carson's team lost their football game yesterday. Sucks, but we were playing last year's champion. It was 19 - 0 but considering the other team is way bigger and faster, we parents thought the boys played really well. I'm slacking at taking pictures the last 2 weeks.

Here's a digi page I did today for the "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" challenge at www.thescrappingspot.com :
